Extracurricular

Below you will find a listing of the various extracurricular clubs and activities that C.S. Brown High School Stem offers students to participate in and enjoy as we are "Rebuilding Our Legacy."

 

Battle of the Books- Battle of the Books is a reading incentive program that offers students a fun and learning-intensive experience. Students read deeply to retain information about the plot, character, theme, setting, and other elements. This encourages students to read high-quality books and have fun while competing with peers. Students participate by reading from the book lists provided. C. S. Brown High School Stem offers battle-of-the-books resources to students, parents, and school staff. 

 

National Beta Club- the National Beta Club was founded on the standards outlined in our Constitution and continues to uphold students to the same ideals. NBC is committed to recognizing high academic achievement, rewarding, and nurturing worthy character, and fostering leadership skills. 

 

Career and Technical Education Honor Society- The CTE Honor Society is an organization that recognizes students who have proven to be outstanding in their achievements in the CTE courses they have taken. These areas include Business, Allied Health Science, and Family and Consumer Science. Students are invited to become members of the Society after they have met certain advertised criteria. Students are nominated during their junior or senior years based on their scholarship, citizenship, and leadership. 

 

F. B. L.A (Future Business Leaders of America)- Students currently enrolled in, or have taken business classes. Establish a positive working relationship with business and education through innovative leadership and career development. 

 

HOSA- HOSA is a national student organization endorsed by the United States Department of Education and Health Science Technology Education Division of ACTE. HOSA's mission is to promote career opportunities in the healthcare industry and enhance quality healthcare delivery to all people. HOSA's goal is to encourage all health occupations instructors and students to join and be actively involved in the HSTE-HOSA partnership. 

 

Marching Band- an extension of the high school concert band program, the marching band is a group of instrumental musicians who perform for entertainment during school-sponsored events and for competitions in state-wide competitions. 

 

National Honor Society- The National Honor Society is by invitation only. The NHS is a nationally recognized organization that acknowledges students of exceptional scholarship and character. Students are invited to apply for induction into the society in their junior or senior year if they have a 3.5 GPA or higher. In addition to scholarship, students should be able to demonstrate and document school and community service, and leadership activities, and be outstanding character. 

Virtual Enterprise- Students collaborate through computer networks to share resources and talents to better respond to commercial opportunities.
